Across from the Opéra, an old confectioner's with gilded wooden cabinets and a chandelier. Since 1820 it has been known for fruits confits, whole fruit steeped for weeks in sugar syrup; candied mandarins, pears and figs glow in the glass cases. There are also chocolates, fruit jellies and almond sweets, which makes it an easy souvenir stop. Some say the shop alone is worth the visit; others found it underwhelming for its fame.
