Behind Place Masséna a wide mirror pool lies under a couple of centimetres of water. When the jets come on, kids run straight through in their shoes while adults cool off on the benches along the edge. The park stretches on towards the old town with shade trees and playgrounds. On a hot afternoon, when the pebble beach is too much, this is where locals retreat.
