Confeitaria Nacional
Confeitaria Nacional (Praça da Figueira)
Lisbon's grand old pastry shop, open since 1829
- Budget
- About €4-6 per person
- Address
- Praça da Figueira 18B
Opened on Praça da Figueira in 1829, one of Lisbon's oldest pastry shops, and said to have introduced Bolo-Rei, the Christmas king cake, to Portugal in 1875. Downstairs, wooden cases are lined with coconut cakes, bolo de arroz rice muffins and natas; upstairs there's a tea room with table service. The display cases alone are worth more than a quick nata.
