Mozarthaus Vienna
Mozarthaus Vienna
Mozart's one surviving Vienna flat, where Figaro was born
- Hours
- Daily 10am–6pm (last entry 5:30pm)
- Address
- At Domgasse 5, a lane just behind St Stephen's Cathedral
Mozart lived here from 1784 to 1787, and it's the only one of his Vienna homes still standing. The Marriage of Figaro was written in these rooms. You go up from the courtyard through exhibition rooms arranged by stage of his life, with an audio guide included in the ticket. The furnishings are mostly period style rather than original, so the draw is the documents, scores and instruments.
