Turn into Jishan Street by Jiufen's 7-Eleven and it's the crowd on your right. A worker planes a big block of peanut brittle in a steady rhythm onto a thin crepe, adds two scoops of old-fashioned taro or pineapple ice cream, asks if you'd like coriander, and rolls it up. Nutty, sweet, cold and herbal in one bite. They work fast, so even long lines shrink quickly.
