Chun Shui Tang started in Taichung in 1983 with shaken iced black tea, and says it hung the first 'pearl milk tea' sign on its wall in spring 1987. The Siwei Street shop is the chain's founding store, which is why people make the trip. It is a sit-down tea house rather than a takeaway counter, so you can turn tea into a meal with noodles and snacks. The milk tea leans on the tea, with gentler sweetness than street cups.
