The tired old Pyrmont market moved next door to Blackwattle Bay and reopened in a new building on 19 January 2026. Under a 200-metre wave-shaped roof are more than 40 retailers, plus windows looking down on the auction floor. Pick oysters, prawns or lobster, have them steamed or grilled with cheese on the spot, and eat on the waterfront steps. Every 2026 review says the same thing: cleaner, brighter, far less fishy than the old place.
