The bay on the west side of the CBD: restaurants along Cockle Bay Wharf, SEA LIFE and WILD LIFE Sydney at the north end

Walk downhill west from the CBD and the water cuts deep into the city, ringed by restaurants, bars and hotels. The building at the north end holds SEA LIFE aquarium and WILD LIFE zoo side by side, which can swallow half a day with kids. At night the lights on the water bring out the strollers, and on set Saturdays there are free fireworks over the bay. Cross the old swing-span Pyrmont Bridge and the promenade carries on around the Pyrmont side.
