Ta Prohm was deliberately left half-surrendered to the forest. Silk-cotton and strangler-fig roots pour over the collapsed galleries like octopus arms, gripping the blocks so tightly you can't tell whether they're tearing the temple apart or holding it up. Jayavarman VII built it in the late 1100s in honour of his mother; Tomb Raider made it famous. Wooden boardwalks now set the route, and each famous root has its own photo queue. Go early and it's cooler and quieter than anywhere else in the park: moss, birdsong, and light falling through the canopy.
