The 468 m broadcast tower went up in 1994. A standard ticket gets you to the 263 m main deck and the glass-floored ring at 259 m just below, where people lie flat on the glass for photos all day. The Shanghai history gallery at the base rebuilds old street scenes with life-size wax figures, and a fair number of visitors say they liked it more than the view. From inside you can't see the tower itself, so take your tower photos from the Bund across the river or from the circular footbridge out front.
