Jean Nouvel's white museum sits on the riverbank at the foot of the Oriental Pearl. In the long glass hall facing the river, the Bund's stone facades fill the windows, and one tall slit of a window crops the Oriental Pearl like a framed print, so there's usually a photo queue. Up the escalators, the roof terrace gives you the Pearl head-on with nothing in the way. In October 2026 the shows are Giorgio Morandi's 'Monologue' (to 28 October) and Chanel's le19M ateliers (to 15 November); exhibitions change often.
