María Luisa Park

Parque de María Luisa

A big shady park of tiled benches, fountains and a dove square

Hours
Open from morning till night; seasonal times posted at the gates
Address
Paseo de las Delicias, right next to Plaza de España

Cross the road from Plaza de España and tall palms and plane trees close in overhead. The park was laid out for the 1929 exposition, so tiled benches, fountains, little ponds and pavilions are tucked in among the paths. At the southern end, Plaza de América is framed by ornate exposition pavilions now used as museums, and the square in front is famous for its pigeons. Plenty of people do a lap in a four-seater pedal cart or a horse carriage.
