Houses cling in tiers to a strip of slope between the mountain and the lake. The shot everyone is after is from the roadside viewpoint at the north end: the white church spire with the houses reflected in the water. The village itself is small enough to walk end to end in half an hour, but add the funicular up to the salt mine and the Skywalk platform and the day fills up. Residents have long complained about crowds, so keep off private steps and yards.
