You pull on white overalls, squeeze onto a little mine train and ride into the mountain. Inside you go down two long wooden miners' slides, fast enough that everyone shrieks. Step over a line painted on the tunnel floor and you're in Germany. There's also a raft crossing over an underground salt lake. It's where Salzburg's name, salt castle, and its old money start to make sense.
