An eel specialist on the shopping street at the edge of Naramachi. You take your shoes off and slip into house slippers, so the old townhouse mood starts before the food does. The signature is hitsumabushi, eaten in three rounds: plain, with condiments, then as tea-poured rice. Tempura, sashimi and set meals are on the menu too, so a companion who skips eel is not stranded.
