The island is about 700 m long and 250 m wide, with sand lanes and no cars. On the southwest beach, stingrays come in every day and night for the scraps fishermen toss, and now and then a nurse shark or turtle shows up. Stand knee-deep and a big ray will glide right past your legs. There's a separate bikini beach on the east side, and it's far quieter than Maafushi, so plenty of people stay a night in a guesthouse.
