Lala is Malay for clams, and they come heaped over the bowl. The broth, made with Chinese yellow wine and ginger, is clean and warming at the same time. The Michelin Guide's pick is lala bihun with prawns, on rice vermicelli. It began as a street stall and now fills two floors of a corner building, red lanterns overhead and old photos and abacuses on the walls. Portions are generous; one bowl will do.
