At 7am a queue tens of metres long forms at the mall's Kuhio entrance, all for kouign-amann from San Francisco's b.patisserie. The layered butter pastry has a caramelised sugar shell that shatters, and classic and black sesame are the favourites. The 100% Kona latte is nutty and low in acidity, and plenty of reviewers call it the best latte of their lives. Pastries can sell out by afternoon.
