The bakery on the grounds of the Fujiya Hotel, Hakone's grand classic. It began over fifty years ago because guests wanted to take the restaurant's bread home. The star is apple pie from a recipe kept since 1915: crisp pastry packed with slow-cooked apple. The raisin bread, made with milk and eggs and no water, is another long-time favourite.
