A ryokan on the grounds of Prince Kan'in's old summer villa, and a Relais & Châteaux member. The lobby sits on the top floor and the rooms step down the slope beneath it. From the in-room open-air bath you see nothing but forest, and dinner is a seasonal kaiseki. There is an indoor pool and a shared bath too. Of six dates checked on Trip.com, only one in mid-January had a room.
