- Down Bells Brae from the West End to the riverside
A few steps down from the busy West End and you hear running water. The Water of Leith runs through a narrow valley, with old mill buildings and steep-roofed houses crowding its banks. The classic view is from the little stone bridge, looking across to the red sandstone of Well Court. Follow the riverside path for about 20 minutes and you reach Stockbridge.
