The 'Mix Hostel', a Chengdu backpacker fixture once listed in Lonely Planet, now runs under the POSHPACKER name (opened 2004, renovated 2020). Through a gate hung with bamboo and red lanterns you find Sichuan folk-style buildings around a garden courtyard. Wenshu Monastery and Wenshufang are about an eight-minute walk. There are free activities most days, and reviewers mention a Thursday-night hotpot party.
