The whole 2.5-km island in the middle of the Danube is a park. Only buses are allowed in, so walkers and cyclists own the paths. A musical fountain at the southern end sprays in time to recorded songs, and further in you pass a rose garden, a Japanese garden, a ruined medieval convent and a dumpy water tower. Hire a bike or a pedal buggy near the entrance and the loop takes about an hour. On a sunny weekend half of Budapest seems to be here.
