A rebuilt palace filled with world cultures

Hours
Wed–Mon 10:30–18:30, closed Tuesday
Tickets
Building entry free; exhibitions and roof terrace ticketed
Address
Schloßplatz 1, Mitte, the rebuilt palace across from the Berlin Cathedral

Three of its facades copy the old baroque palace while the fourth side is plainly modern. Inside are collections from Africa, Asia and Oceania, with a big sailing boat among the best known pieces. Take the lift to the roof terrace and the TV tower and Cathedral dome line up in one view. You can wander into the courtyard without a ticket; exhibitions and the roof need one.
