Address
Up the steps from Plaka towards Stratonos Street, right under the Acropolis rock

In the 19th century, builders from the island of Anafi came to work on the royal palace and threw up houses on the rock like the ones back home. Whitewashed walls, blue shutters and potted plants crowd stairways barely one person wide, and it's hard to believe you were in a city a few minutes ago. At the end of the lanes the rooftops open onto Lycabettus Hill and the city. People still live here, so don't sit on doorsteps or make a racket.
