- Around the junction of Adrianou and Kydathineon streets
Nineteenth-century neoclassical houses painted in faded pastels, stepped lanes with bougainvillea spilling over the walls. The main drags, Adrianou and Kydathineon, are all souvenir shops and waiters waving menus, but climb one block uphill and you're in quiet alleys where cats sleep on doorsteps. In the evening, taverna tables spread down the steps and the floodlit walls of the Acropolis hang right above your head. Stay nearby and you'll end up walking through it morning and night.
