Step inside the old naval storehouse and a glass roof covers the courtyard, so even grey days get some daylight. Inside, the story of the 17th-century VOC voyages is told with maps, instruments and huge ship paintings. Out at the quay, a full-size replica of a VOC trading ship floats where you can walk the deck and peek into the cabins. Kids have plenty to do.
