From Hani Palace to Niulu River it runs about 17 km and two and a half hours, with over a hundred rapids and twenty-odd small waterfalls, so you do more than sit and watch. Wild monkeys sometimes show up on the banks. It is a long drive from Zhangjiajie, so plan a full day.
