Boardwalks are pinned to the cliffs around the summit so you can walk a full loop. Guigu Plank Road clings to the rock face, and one stretch has a glass floor you cross in shoe covers, with forest and cloud hundreds of metres below; the first few steps everyone grips the rail. On clear days you look down on the city and the switchbacks of Tongtian Avenue; on grey days you walk inside the cloud. The long cableway from downtown used to be half the fun, but from 13 Oct 2026 it is shut end to end for an upgrade. For now you ride the Tianmen Cave express cableway from the mountain gate to the cave, then a seven-stage escalator tunnelled through the mountain to the top.
