A food lane against the east city wall, more Han-traditional and calmer than the Muslim Quarter, with stalls selling snacks from every corner of Shaanxi. The famous ritual is suiwanjiu: drink a small bowl of liquor, then smash it on the ground to a clang of gongs. 'Sui' (smash) sounds like 'sui' (year), so it's a wish for peace year after year. The lane ends at the wall, so you can climb straight up for a walk.
