One of Vancouver's first-wave craft breweries, open since 1995. The name comes from the old steam pipes found in the building's basement, which they used to heat their brew kettles. The room is huge and runs down to a lower floor, and window tables look out on the water and the North Shore mountains. Start with a four-glass flight: Lions Gate Lager, Pale Ale and Flagship IPA. Food-wise, the fish and chips with a palm-sized cod fillet and the poutine are the big sellers.
