Change at the end of the brown line and a 4 km cable car carries you over a forested ridge. Choose a Crystal Cabin and the treetops and valleys slide by under the glass floor. At the top, Maokong is a tea village growing Tieguanyin and Baozhong, with teahouses dotted along the hill road; grab a window seat and the city and Taipei 101 lie below. The classic move is to ride up near sunset, watch the city lights come on over a pot of tea, then float back down. With the zoo right next door, families make a day of pandas and the gondola.
