This late-ninth-century temple sits in steps on top of almost the only hill on the Angkor plain. It's an easy walk up a forest path, then steep wooden stairs, and from the top the sun drops over the West Baray reservoir while the tips of Angkor Wat's towers poke above the trees to the east. Only 300 people are allowed up at a time, and on dry-season weekends the quota is said to fill by 4pm. Everyone comes down together after sunset, so have a torch or your phone light ready.
