Started in 1994 as a small shop on Wujiang Road; the pink signs are now all over Shanghai. The Huanghe Road branch opens at 6:30 a.m. These are the thin-skinned, barely risen kind packed with soup, so a bun fresh off the iron pan squirts before you taste anything. Crackly bottoms, sesame and scallion on top. Jia Jia Tang Bao is 30 m up the street, so plenty of people do soup dumplings and shengjian in one go.
