From the street it's a grey concrete box punched with rows of round holes. Inside, dozens of ramps and sky bridges wind around a cylindrical core, and within a few minutes you've lost track of which floor you're on. It was built in 1933 to a British design as the largest slaughterhouse in the Far East, and the routes that once kept cattle and workers apart are what make it a maze today. In the afternoon, light through the lattice windows stamps circles across the floors and walls.
