In April 2025 the old helipad on top of White Magnolia Plaza, the tallest building in Puxi, became an open-air observation deck. From the basement entrance you pass through a five-act corridor themed on Shakespeare's 'All the world's a stage', each act with its own light, music and scent, then a lift drops you onto a windy roof 320 m up with no glass in the way. Lujiazui's Oriental Pearl and Shanghai Tower line up in front of you, and the old Bund facades sit below to the left. Unlike the decks across the river, you get both skylines at once. Back on the ground, walk to the river for the 2.5 km North Bund promenade and its giant mirrored egg sculpture.
