On 29 April 1932 Yun Bong-gil threw a bomb into a Japanese military celebration held in this park. Today it's an ordinary neighbourhood park with a lake, a white stone bridge and huge plane trees; in the mornings you'll find rows of retirees dancing and men writing characters on the paving with water brushes. Walk to the plum grove in the north-east and you reach Meixuan, a two-storey red timber pavilion under grey tiles. A bust of Yun greets you at the door, followed by some seventy historical photos and a rare film clip shot by a Soviet journalist. Lu Xun's granite tomb, with a seated bronze of the writer, sits in the middle of the park.
