Inside the Nasrid Palaces every wall and ceiling is carved plaster, and you don't know where to look first. In the Court of the Myrtles the Comares Tower hangs upside down in a long pool; in the Court of the Lions twelve stone lions carry a fountain on their backs. The ceiling of the Hall of the Two Sisters is a honeycomb dome of thousands of tiny pieces. Walk out along the water channels of the Generalife gardens and the day disappears. As a day trip from Seville it means more than five hours on trains, so many travellers suggest staying a night in Granada if you can.
