Ten minutes on foot from Sapporo Station and the city noise just stops. The campus is big enough that a wrong turn puts you in woods. In mid-October the ginkgos along the main street go full yellow and the fallen leaves cover the road. The poplar avenue lost many trees to a typhoon in 2004, so young and surviving trunks stand mixed together. You can even eat at a student cafeteria.
