The ten-storey Sapporo flagship of Rokkatei, maker of Hokkaido's top souvenir, the Marusei Butter Sandwich. Buy sweets on the ground floor, then head up to the second-floor tearoom for seasonal desserts over a garden of Hokkaido wildflowers. The thing to eat is the ¥320 Marusei Ice Sandwich, sold only on the ground floor: the butter sandwich's raisin and white chocolate turned into ice cream between biscuits. It melts, so no takeaway.
