Panagia Episkopi Church

Παναγία Επισκοπή Γωνιάς

11th-century Byzantine church in a quiet village

Address
South-east of Mesa Gonia village, near the Kamari road

An 11th-century Byzantine church near the inland village of Mesa Gonia. Unlike the blue-domed chapels of the caldera, it is heavy stone and feels properly old. It is still a place of worship. Few tourists come, so the yard is a good spot to sit for a while.
