Getreidegasse

Getreidegasse

A narrow shopping lane under rows of wrought-iron signs

⚠ Most shops shut Sundays

Hours
Street always open; shops mostly open Mon–Sat daytime (varies)
Address
The lane from Hagenauerplatz west to St. Blasius church

The lane is only a few strides wide, with gilded wrought-iron shop signs hanging one after another overhead. Even McDonald's has to use one. Many houses have a Durchhaus, a passage through the building, that leads into tiny courtyards with shops and comes out by the river or on Universitätsplatz. No. 9, the yellow house, is Mozart's birthplace, so there is always a knot of people stopped outside.
