If Banzai Cliff is the drop at the water's edge, this is the limestone wall standing inland behind it. From the top you see the green Marpi flats, Banzai Cliff at their far edge and the open horizon in one sweep. Japanese soldiers and civilians also jumped from here at the end of the 1944 battle, and memorials and peace monuments stand on the rim. New walkways, platforms, railings and parking went under construction in September 2026, with completion targeted for summer 2027, so access may be restricted until then.
