Address
Directly below Suicide Cliff on the way to Banzai Cliff, with a peace memorial next door

A concrete bunker sits half-sunk into the rock wall below Suicide Cliff, its face still punched with shell holes. It's where the Japanese command made its final stand at the end of the 1944 battle, and rusting artillery and a tank are lined up out front. Right next door is a peace memorial honouring people brought to the island by force who died here. New restrooms and other facilities have been under construction since September 2026.
