Coastal lookout in Marpi on the northeast side, just south of the Grotto turnoff

From the clifftop lookout you're staring down at a rock islet wearing a green cap of scrub. Pacific swell smashes white on its outer side while the reef keeps the inside water a calm jade. Toward dusk, seabirds come back to roost, which is where the name comes from. In September 2026 work began on a new lookout, stairs, railings and car park, due to run until summer 2027, so where you can stand may be limited meanwhile.
