Old Japanese Jail

Japanese Jail Historic and Archeological District

1930 Japanese jail with graffiti still on the walls

Address
Raghisch Street, Garapan, a couple of blocks from Sugar King Park

Built around 1930 by the Japanese and used until 1944, the jail still has its concrete walls and cell footprints. Faint graffiti left by prisoners is visible on some surfaces. It is a ruin rather than a staffed museum, so signage is minimal. From Sugar King Park it is a short walk, and ten minutes is enough.
