You smell this place before you see it: charcoal smoke rolls out of the chimney and down the street. The Filipino owner grills chicken skewers, pork belly and short ribs on a fire right by the door. Most plates come as combos with rice, soup and papaya salad, and some nights there's free kimchi or fried chicken skin. The owner will show you the island way: chicken oil from the table mixed into the rice, eaten by hand.
