Walk a few blocks out of Garapan's hotel streets and you hit sand, with Managaha floating on the lagoon straight ahead. You can wade a long way and stay below waist-deep, which suits kids, and the white bottom turns the water a pale sky blue. At sunset the sun drops toward Managaha and the sky goes from orange to pink. It's the beach you end up walking to every evening of your stay.
