Step between the massive granite columns and everyone's head tips back. A shaft of sunlight falls at an angle through the open oculus at the top of the 43-metre dome, and the round patch of light slides slowly across the walls as the day goes on. When it rains, the rain pours straight through and drains away through holes in the floor. Raphael is buried here too. It has charged admission since 2023, and the price rose to €7 on 1 July 2026.
