A silver skeleton of a ship sits on a granite slab, pointing out across the bay. Jón Gunnar Árnason made it for Reykjavík's 200th birthday in 1990; it looks like a Viking longship, but he called it a dream boat sailing toward the sun. It's not big and you'll see it in a minute, but when the sun sits low the steel turns orange with Mount Esja behind it and the photo pretty much takes itself. On winter nights photographers use it as an aurora foreground.
